PeraMakan is a play of words from the word "Peranakan" meaning "local-born" and "Makan",
a Malay word for "to eat". Hence, the name, PeraMakan was born;
a marriage of two great cultures, the rich culinary heritage of the Peranakans
and Singaporean's favourite past time, "to makan".

PeraMakan is made possible by God’s grace and is dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ. Hence, PeraMakan seeks to glorify God through our work, our corporate values and our service to others.

Our Logo
Four pieces of Peranakan tiles of vibrant colours,
joined together to form a square were chosen as our logo as they
symbolise the home. Home is where good, authentic Peranakan food originates.
The homes of the Peranakans are often decorated with colourful tiles.
Colour
is very important to the Peranakans and plays a significant role
in
their food, clothes and crockery. It connotes VIBRANCY, an apt description
of the Peranakans who are a people with lots of joie de vivre. In
Chef Poh Neo’s childhood home, colourful tiles help to break the
monotony of the white tiles in the kitchen. At PeraMakan, the tiles remind
us
that food should be like what we have at home, wholesome, delicious
and generous in portions. As you enter PeraMakan, you will see colourful
tiles
embedded in our service counters. May the tiles remind us that at
PeraMakan, we serve you good food cooked with love…
